The Truth About Women and Testosterone

By September 3, 2018September 23rd, 2024No Comments4 min read

I shared with a physician that I treat patients with natural hormone replacement therapy and she replied that she doesn’t believe in replacing hormones.

I was in shock!

She justified it by saying; she believed God made woman that as we age our hormones naturally go down and naturally that’s the way it’s suppose to be.

My response…God’s not a woman.

No, really, I asked if a patient came to see her with a history of a heart attack would she treat that patient so that she doesn’t have another heart attack?

If a patient has a history of osteopenia (weak bones) would she treat that patient so that she does develop osteoporosis and have a fracture and possible need for a hip replacement?

I concluded with, so when a patient comes to you with complaint of hot flashes, night sweats, foggy thinking, fatigue, low libido and insomnia do you treat that patient to improve their quality of life, possibly save them from losing their job or spouse?

It’s all about your quality of life.

The young doctors response to me…I’m going to come and see you when I need hormones.

It’s true; hormones will give you your life back. If you’re feeling out of whack, not yourself, feeling hopeless, unattractive, could care less about your low or no libido, there is a reason. The reason is not because you’re lacking an antidepressant.

The majority of the time when you present with these complaints to your healthcare provider they are sure to start you on an antidepressant.

There is a great chance that you are not depressed and you just need your hormones balanced. Restoring hormone balance will help get you back in the game.

If you think this could be the problem then check it out for yourself. Complete a hormone test in the privacy of your own home.

I use a special saliva (spit) test to see where your hormone levels are and more importantly if they are in balance. Balancing also helps to eliminate estrogen dominance or progesterone dominance. Testosterone is also important.

Yes women do need testosterone.

When all hormones are balanced I call it the sweet spot. You’re ready to concour the world. Bottom line your story doesn’t end just because you’re in perimenopause or menopause.

Yes naturally these levels go down as you age. But to maintain your quality of life you add them back. It’s life changing.

This is true for men and women.

Men are less likely to seek help for insomnia, low energy, decrease in muscle firmness, low libido and other complaints but the same lies true for men. Replace Testosterone  back to  a level when you were  younger and it can help you feel yound again.

Be Ageless
