Losing weight is one of the challenging journeys that one can undertake. It requires consistent motivation, discipline, and dedication. However, despite the amount of work you may put into this journey, you might not be getting your desired results. You may have lost significant weight, but there will remain areas of stubborn fat, adamant fat that does not respond to any of your efforts. Maybe it is on your tummy, your arms, or under your chin. But do not worry! There is an alternative, a solution that will take care of this fat. And that is CoolSculpting
CoolSculpting, also known as cryolipolysis, is a form non-invasive method of getting rid of stubborn fat. It is an innovative procedure for body contouring. This procedure sculpts your body, eliminating asymmetric appearance and rids fat in unwanted places. However, it is imperative to know that this is not a treatment for weight loss.
The following areas are the common targets:
- fat bulges under the chin (submental) and jawline (submandibular)
- the upper arm, back, and bra fat
- thighs, abdomen, and flanks
HOW DOES IT WORK?
The mechanism of CoolSculpting lies in the term cryolipolysis. Cryo means to freeze, and lipolysis is the destruction of fat tissue. Hence, destroying fat tissue by freezing it. Fat tissue is uniquely sensitive to cold temperatures.
Special applicators that conduct the cooling effect will selectively trigger the destruction of the fat cells. While simultaneously preserving the adjacent tissues such as skin, muscles, and nerves.
Three days after exposure to temperatures between -1 to -7°C, the fat tissues begin to undergo an inflammatory response. By day 14, this response reaches its peak, and the immune cells start to kill and consume fat cells. Within three months, the inflammatory process begins to decline. As a result, the volume of fat tissues decreases, reducing the size of the selective subcutaneous fat layer.
Studies reveal a high degree of patient satisfaction with CoolSculpting due to the accuracy of treatment and transient minimal side-effects. Liposuction is also a frequently employed and effective technique for body contouring. For this reason, we offer both! The non-invasive nature of CoolSculpting makes it the ideal method of skin tightening is not a concern. The more traditional methods of fat removal (such as liposuction) with our Bodytite machine are ideal for fat removal and skin tightening. Which one is right for you? It’s personal.
The advantages of CoolSculpting are:
- Minimal to no side-effects
- No anesthesia required
- No surgical incision, anesthesia, or stitches required
- No scarring
- Minimal to no recovery time, individuals can resume normal activities almost immediately
The size of the paddles delivering the cooling effect varies according to the treatment area. Your doctor may leave the paddles on the target area for about 30 to 75 minutes. These paddles create a vacuum and suction skin and fat. As the cooling paddles set to work to destroy the fat tissue, you can sit back or lie down and relax. For the duration of the procedure, you can read a book, watch a movie, or maybe catch up on some work.
The number of sessions required to achieve desirable results depends upon the size of the target area. During your initial consultation, you and Dr. Roz will decide how many sessions will be necessary and the time between the sessions.
