What is Matcha Tea?
Green and matcha tea are derived from the same plant, Camellia Sinensis. The major difference is the form. While green tea is created from the leaves of the Camellia plant and has a somewhat gritty texture matcha tea is a fine, velvety powder, stone-ground, and made from 100% of the finest green tea leaves.
Benefits of Matcha Tea
Farmers produce matcha powder by harvesting green tea leaves, removing the stems, and veins, and grinding tea leaves into a fine powder. This process makes matcha more concentrated with powerful antioxidants, amino acids, Vitamin C, Selenium, Zinc, Magnesium, fiber, all of which support the immune system.
Antioxidants stabilize harmful free radicals, which are compounds that can damage your cells and are linked to chronic disease.

You can start slow by adding a squirt of fresh lemon to your matcha tea to add a burst of citrus flavor. Some clients find, brewing it warm and adding mint, lemon, or honey and chilling a pitcher in the fridge can make matcha a refreshing summer or spring beverage. I’ve even added almond milk, honey or agave, to my matcha tea in the morning for an immune-boosting and tasty latte.
