Don’t let your turkey be loaded with BPAs and Phthalate, and ruin your health while consuming your Thanksgiving meal!

BPAs and Phthalates are toxic materials that enter the body from multiple sources such as shower curtains, deodorants, cosmetics, and food wrappings and plastic bottles. This year avoid the plastic turkey bag.

7 Tips to Reduce Your Exposure to Toxins

Here are some helpful tips for reducing dietary exposure to toxic material during this holiday season and beyond:

  • Choose organic and low-fat or no-fat animal products such as eggs, dairy, meats.
  • Choose cooking methods that are low-char and that allow animal fats to drip away, such as steaming.
  • Use glass, ceramic, or stainless steel for re-heating or storing hot food.
  • Avoid plastic water bottles or travel mugs and do not wash plastic food or beverage containers under high heat.
  • Avoid using cling wrap and only buy canned foods that are BPA-free.
  • Avoid high-fructose corn-syrup and rice-syrup, and processed foods containing BHT, BHA, Benzoate and artificial coloring or sweeteners.
  • Choose local, seasonal and organic produce whenever possible. Wash all vegetables and fruits using mild additive-free soap and clean water.
