Green Protein Smoothie Recipe

Say goodbye to all the things that have held you down and set yourself free. Free to explore, free to be whom you want to be.  You need energy to do this. This will not come from a candy bar in the middle of the day when you feel like you need a pick-me-up. My go to is a protein shake.

Most patients are surprised when they find out that greens and seeds are a great source of protein as most automatically think of meat or peanut butter, but you can add spinach or kale and get that protein needed.

  • Leafy greens:  If you choose kale, there is 8 grams of protein in 3 cups and if you choose spinach, you’ll get 3 grams in those 3 cups.
  • Pumpkin seeds: In the 3 tablespoons used, there are over 5 grams of protein.

Prep time: takes about 5 minutes to make this in your blender, bullet or Nutri-Ninja

Servings: 1
  • 3 cups dark leafy greens
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • ½ cup frozen banana
  • 3 tablespoons pumpkin seeds
Add all ingredients (use organic if possible) and blend until smooth – enjoy!
